Maienzug-Brunnen, 7.07.2023, 5000 Aarau
38 fountains and the Heinrich Zschokke statue are elaborately decorated with flowers every year on the first Friday in July, from traditional to fancy. Maienzug, by the way, has nothing to do with the month of May. 400 years ago, there was an old school custom. Teachers went with their students into the forest to cut fresh rods. At that time, rods were also called «Meyen», which gave the Maienzug its name. Between 9h30 and 11h30, a team of city guides will tell historical facts, anecdotes, and stories about the Maienzug at seven locations.

Dahlia Festival, from mid July to October 2023, 1110 Morges
With about a hundred different varieties, this dahlia festival is a unique event. Between the church of Morges and the Parc de Vertou, it offers a summer walk of more than a kilometer and a half along Lake Geneva. It is in this enchanting setting that about 2,250 dahlias have been planted, which compete in beauty from July to October.
