The countdown is on. The traditional Spengler Cup 2025 kicks off in Davos on December 26.
The group assignments have been announced: defending champions Fribourg-Gottéron will face Sparta Prague and IFK Helsinki in Group Torriani.
Hosts HC Davos will compete in Group Cattini against Team Canada and tournament newcomers U.S. Collegiate Selects.
The tournament kicks off with exciting games, including Fribourg against Sparta Prague and Canada against the USA.
While Team Canada looks back on a long Spengler Cup history, the U.S. Collegiate Selects, a team of selected top talents, will make their tournament debut.
HC Davos and IFK Helsinki will also enter the fray on the second day. The Finns are returning after 2022, while HCD is looking to extend its record number of titles to 16.
Ahead of the 97th edition, the tournament hosts are tied with Team Canada on 16 final victories.
