Exotic holiday pleasures in a preserving jar
Preserving jars were long forgotten. Now they are back. And filled so imaginatively that they at least make up for the missing holiday.
Materials:
Preserving jars or other fine glass containers; tillandsia and/or succulent plants; sand or pebbles.
Method:
- Put some sand or pebbles in the glasses.
- Place the plants inside (1 plant per jar) and fill them up to the edge with sand or pebbles. If you are using smaller jars, e.g. 8 cm in diameter, and there is little space between the root ball of the plant and the glass wall, help to fill the sand or pebbles with a fine stick so that the sand (or pebbles) is distributed evenly.
Tip:
Fill several glasses and form a group. To intensify the holiday feeling, place some shells between the glasses ... and for the evening some photophores, of course made of glass.
By the way: tillandsia must be sprayed with water regularly. Succulents on the other hand need very little water from time to time.
